We've been so freaking busy since the fires. I have several half-written posts to finish up and post, so one of these days you're going to get the motherlode.
Only 7 days until Christmas and we're finally settling down. We have some nice relaxing family activities planned every night until the big day. Arianna and Samantha are giddy with anticipation of what Christmas is all about. They think they just might see Santa again this year. Esther and Adele have no clue. They're just along for the ride.
Tonight we're reading a few Christmas books before bedtime. This will work especially well since Esther and Adele will likely go to bed before Arianna, Samantha, and I are back from flute lessons.
Tomorrow we're going over to the Festival of Lights at the Wild Animal Park. They have lots of crafty activities as well as a snow hill. We haven't seen snow for about 4 years. That ought to prove fun... and COLD!!
Thursday we'll do some holiday baking for the home and visiting teachees, as well as a few friends. This morning I decided to try to make some of my mom's candied popcorn. It worked!!! It's green and it's really yummy. :) Oh, we'll try to get some presents wrapped while we bake.
Friday we'll wrap more presents and go carolling to deliver a few. Since our first Christmas program at the Escondido Center for the Performing Arts, we've become carollers. People seem to enjoy it, so we oblige them.
Saturday we're going over to our friends, the Mevs, to learn how to make "real" tamales. Even though we're on the go, this should be a fun, relaxing time for us. They're marvelous people.
Sunday we will act out the nativity and read the scriptures associated with our nativity ornaments, go carolling and deliver any goodies we have not delivered yet.
Monday will be Family Home Evening with the Mevs, eating the tamales, and carolling with them, and home for an early bedtime.
You sound very busy, Lori. Nice to see an update from you.
