Here's the truth. When you keep a blog, you start out thinking you'll just write down a few events and thoughts and call it good. If someone happens to read it, fine. So, you get started. The next thing you know, you actually WANT someone to read it. Just posting into the nothingness of the internet is just not scratching your new itch. Fortunately, they have the "comment" option, so you tell all your friends and family, so they can share in this little part of your life. When you live far away from said family and friends, you think a blog is THE ANSWER. Now you can share a little of your life with everyone with ONE letter. For someone like me, this seriously, is as good as it gets. So, I blog.
Well, I did. But then an interesting thing happened, that I would NEVER have predicted. It started to bug me that noone commented. It was like having a peeping tom (or several), knowing who they were, and everyone pretending like it wasn't really happening.
So, for those of you who just haven't gotten to the point where you can comment on a blog, let me tell you what it's like. It's EXACTLY like when you got your first answering machine and people called and called, but NOONE left a message. Kind of silly, isn't it.
There's even the same old excuse... "I don't know what to say." So, I'm going to tell you what to say. This is not the venue to have a lengthy conversation. Moreover, it's not even the venue to have any kind of a conversation. It's just your chance to say hi. So, you click on word "comment" below the post, you'll see a couple of examples of the kinds of things that people who are not blog-shy say.
Come on, give me something to chew on!
Hi Lori! I'll post a comment. I ceck your blog when I can. I miss seeing you over at Scrap Chat as well. :)

funny! I love the shoes too. I thought the blog might be a good way to let people know about Africa without rehashing every little detail. I just have a hard time remembering until something sparks it. I love you and hope you are having a wonderful day! btw-I got the keys to the school and my classroom today and my heart skipped a beat! Oops, this is more than a comment, sorry!
