Our friends, Brad and Angie Baker go beach camping every summer with some other people in their ward. The spots are hard to come by, so everyone tries for a spot when they come open in January and then by July plans change and they juggle. This year, there was an extra spot that no one in their ward could take, so it was offered to us.
I have to admit, I was quite a lot skeptical about beach camping. I'd been by the "campgrounds"... think, campsites all the exact same size, all lines up along a sandy spot with a highway just over the fence. It didn't look a think like the camping I was familiar with.
Some other friends, the Munoas, lent us their old pop-up trailer and off we went. Much to my dismay, I am converted. I'm sure part of it was the tent-trailer, part of it the accessibility of the beach during the day, but I didn't get filthy dirty like I do mountain camping. There were bathrooms to use and shower in. That helped too. We spent the day lounging either at the beach or in the tent-trailer. Our most favorite meal was BBQ ribs cooked over the fire. Yum, yum.

Sounds super fun. it's what we are hoping for at Cannon Beach in July. :o)
