Their teacher, Judy Kelley, had them really step it up a notch this year. It shows that their pieces aren't perfect, but it has really stretched them and been good for them otherwise. We'll see what next year brings. I'd like them to do the Certificate of Merit, but they don't want to. They think it will yield more practicing required, even though Judy has assured them that they'll be learning those pieces anyway. The thought of having to show up for a Saturday flute theory test is beyond even considering to them. "Mom, why in the WORLD would I want to do THAT???!!!???" And I don't have a good answer yet. So if you know the answer to that, please fill us in.
